She was raised in London alongside her younger brother Adnandus Dyzantae. She first started her career as an english teacher and later Joined Channel 4 where she became a host and presenter on T4 from 2009 to 2012. Jameela was also the radio host of The Official Chart and she was the solo female presenter of the BBC Radio 1 chart show.
Jameela moved from london to Los Angeles in 2016 with no intention of perurig career in acting rather woker as screenwriter. She portryaed Tahani Al-Jamil in fantasy comedy series The Good Place which catalysed her acting career and gave him name, fame and popularity.
